"Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you" Elise McKenna [Somewhere in Time]

I've decided that I'm going to attempt to join my good friend Kelsey Moss in her celebration of Valentines Day. I haven't always been a fan of said holiday (more often referring to it as Single Awareness Day) especially since I go to a school that seems to be chock full of not only couples, but young married couples. However, this year I'm going to try and focus my attention on love in general - love for life, my family, and the many blessings I receive on a daily basis from my heavenly father. In order to do this, each day I'm going to post the lyrics and music video to one of my favorite song about love (note that I didn't day 'love songs') and short explanation as to why I chose to share it with you.

To start things off, I'm going to share with you one of my favorites: Dig by Incubus. I love this song because it's not so much about the romantic love, but about human connection. I'm a very relationship/people oriented person, and therefore and am able to really connect to this song. Like it states "we all have someone who digs at us". Take a moment to think about the people in your life who dig at you to become a better version of yourself or who dig you out from under the massive amounts of stress you've buried yourself in. Let them know who much you love them - and start this month right.

Oh, and Brandon Boyd is a master lyricist. Just saying

#1 Dig
Incubus

We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify.
Look me in the eye
and ask for forgiveness;
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again.
Yes, you are my friend.

We all have something that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try.

We all have someone that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohh
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.
