"I promise to love you every moment for forever" Edward Cullen [The Twilight Saga: Eclipse]

Well. My best friend got married. And here's how :)

First, the night before, we packed. And packed. And helped her not freak out. And packed. By the end of it she was all ready for her honeymoon getaway - with activity appropriate outfits and everything.

Then, we took a picture as out last moments as single, best friends.
Then, she had her hair done by her future Sister-in-Law. Look how gorgeous!
Then, Kara and I had the very important job of securely transporting the flowers from Burley to the Temple in Idaho Falls. We took out jobs very seriously.
Then we got to the temple and waited. and waited. and waited until a BUNCH of people started coming into the waiting room where we were. And I mean A BUNCH.

When they came out they were married. That's how it works, right?!
After many minutes of picture taking, I officially took my first picture with my married best friend. And that's how it went.

In a nutshell, of course :D

"Kiss me arse!" "Kiss mine! In English!" Gerry and Holly Kennedy [P.S. I Love You]

I'm going to LA tomorrow!!! I'm so excited. I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to keep up with my Valentines songs...but we'll see. Maybe I'll post a few in advance to give myself of cushion room.

Today's song is from another one of my favorite movies, "P.S. I Love You". Some people may say that it's extremely depressing and no fun to watch at all - but I think it's just wonderful. I cry like a child everytime I watch it and here's why: it's all about valuing what you have while you have it. So that's the message for today. Be grateful for what you've got :) You never know when your life is going to change. This song is lovely and sweet and Irish. Enjoy it!

#6 Love You 'Til The End
The Pogues

I just want to see you
When you're all alone
I just want to catch you if I can
I just want to be there
When the morning light explodes
On your face it radiates
I can't escape
I love you 'til the end

I just want to tell you nothing
You don't want to hear
All I want is for you to say
Why don't you just take me
Where I've never been before
I know you want to hear me
Catch my breath
I love you 'til the end (x4)

I just want to be there
When we're caught in the rain
I just want to see you laugh not cry
I just want to feel you
When the night puts on its cloak
I'm lost for words dont tell me
Cause all I can say
I love you 'til the end (x5)

All I can say
I love you 'til the end (x3

It's all I can say
I love you 'til the end (x3)

“You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” Winnie the Pooh

First off, the quote for today? Brilliant. Look up Winnie the Pooh quotes and your day will be severely brightened. Seriously they're quite wonderful.

If any of you know me, you know that I have an intense love of 80's music. So, when I was trying to choose a song for today I didn't even know where to start. So many good power ballads, sweet love songs, and just plain good music. I decided to go with the band I've been listening to from the womb. Bon Jovi. (Also if you know me you know that I find him immensely attractive. Good ol' Jon Bon) This song is one I don't listen to often, but every time I hear it I get the biggest, silliest grin on my face.Itt's everything a power ballad should be. Sad, sappy, beautiful and rockin'. Especially this video. I mean - the hair! The fantastic coats!! UH I LOVE IT!!! Spread the love y'all.

#5 I'll Be There For You
Bon Jovi

I guess this time you're really leaving
I heard your suitcase say goodbye
And as my broken heart lays bleeding
You say true love it's suicide

You say you've cried a thousand rivers
And now you're swimming for the shore
You left me drowning in my tears
And you won't save me anymore

Now I'm praying to God you'll give me one more chance, girl

I'll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I wanna be the air for you
I'll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what love can do
I'll be there for you

I know you know we've had some good times
Now they have their own hiding place
I can promise you tomorrow
But I can't buy back yesterday

And baby you know my hands were dirty
But I wanted to be your Valentine
I'll be the water when you get thirsty, baby
When you get drunk, I'll be the wine

And I wasn't there when you were happy
I wasn't there when you were down
I didn't mean to miss your birthday, baby
I wish I'd seen you blow those candles out

I'll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I wanna be the air for you
I'll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what love can do
I'll be there for you

"You're almost nearly perfect!" "That's a rotten thing to say!" Corie and Paul Bratter [Barefoot in the Park]

Perfection. What an interesting concept. People are always concerned with finding that "perfect" person or their "perfect match". I think that too often we become so wrapped up in this idea of perfect we miss out on amazing opportunities that are right in front of our lives. Now, this isn't to say lower your standards by any means but let's face it - nobody's perfect. But, if we're lucky, we can find a partner who will be our equal in helping us to daily, strive for perfection. Just a thought.

On that note, today's song is a throwback to the good ol' elementary school days. Boy bands. Yup. You heard me. I myself was a big Backstreet Boys fan. In recent years I've come to have a love for N*SYNC as well, but the good ol' BSB will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you, bleach haired boys of the '90s, for reminding us that our love and our hearts and ultimately "All I have to Give"

Oh. And I hesitate to put the lyrics up. I mean, you always sing a long and you know you know the words but....when you actually read them - it's a wonder they got anywhere in this business ;)

#4 All I Have to Give
The Backstreet Boys

I don't know what he does to make you cry
But I'll be there to make you smile
I don't have a fancy car
To get to you I'd walk a thousand miles
I don't care if he buys you nice things
Does his gifts come from the heart?
I don't know
But if you were my girl
I'd make it so we'd never be apart

But my love is all I have to give
Without you I don't think I could live
I wish I could give the world to you
But love is all I have to give

When you talk (when you talk) does it seem like he's not
Even listening to a word you say?
That's okay babe, just tell me your problems
I'll try my best to kiss them all away
Does he leave (does he leave) when you need him the most?
Does his friends get all your time?
Baby please
I'm on my knees
Praying for the day that you'll be mine

To you... (hey girl) hey girl, I don't want you to cry no more inside
All the money in the world could never add up to all the love
I have inside... I love you

And I will give it to you
All I can give, all I can give
Everything I have is for you
But love is all I have to give
But my love is all I have to give
Without you I don't think I can live
I wish I could give the world to you
But love is all I have to give... to you

"Are those mountains or clouds?" "Mountains" "Oh...they're in the way of the sky." Madre and Me [My Birthday!]

Well, as you may have gathered if you read the title, TODAY IS MY 21st BIRTHDAY! Crazy, right? But I love birthdays because they make you feel extra loved. Seriously. Kelsey Moss (who is FABULOUS) even mentioned me in her Valentines post today! Isn't she just the best?? AND I had two separate groups of people sing to me in the makeup room today, and my lovely roommates even baked me a cake! I was totally surprised :) Since I'm not home a bunch I forget just how lovely they all are. PLUS my mommy is here with me until Saturday! Which, turned out to be a huge blessing because I've been super crazy swamped all week and having her here has been the biggest comfort. Moms are so good for that. All in all, it was a fantastic day. And I can't believe I'm 21 years old. Oh goodness.

Today's song has long been a favorite of mine. I grew up with The Beatles. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings (some love them, some don't particularly care for then) but for me, they mean family and memories. You may not have ever really thought of this song as your typical love song, but I hope that one day, I can have a lovely relationship like Desmond and Molly. Simple, and full of love. Enjoy.

#3 Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
The Beatles

Desmond has his barrow in the market place...
Molly is the singer in a band...
Desmond says to Molly "Girl, I like your face"
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on.

Desmond takes a trolley to the jewelry store...
Buys a twenty carat golden ring...
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door...
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on.

In a couple of years they have built a home sweet home,
With a couple of kids running in the yard,
Of Desmond and Molly Jones... (Ha ha ha ha ha)

Happy ever after in the market place...
Desmond lets the children lend a hand...
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face...
And in the evening she still sings it with the band...

Happy ever after in the market place...
Molly lets the children lend a hand...
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face...
And in the evening she's a singer with the band...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on...
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!...
Lala how the life goes on.

"This is true love - you think this happens every day?" Westley [The Princess Bride]

Oh my. Gavin DeGraw. How I love everything you do. Today's song comes from the Tristan and Isolde soundtrack. If you haven't seen this movie - DO IT NOW. It's amazing and everything that Romeo and Juliet wishes it could be. This song is simple and beautiful. Enjoy.

#2 We Belong Together
Gavin DeGraw

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've both been spoken for

The hammer may strike, be dead on the ground
A nail to my hand, a cross on his crown
We're done if we're undone
Finished if we are incomplete
As one we are everything
We are everything we need

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've both been spoken for

What good is a life, with no one to share
The light of the moon, the honor of a swear
We can try to live the way of which you speak
Taste the milk of your mother earth's love
Spread the word of consciousness you see
We are everything we need

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've both been spoken for

All this indecision
All this independent strength
Still, we've got our hearts on save
We've got our hearts on save

Someday when you're lonely
Sometime after all this bliss
Somewhere lost in emptiness
I hope you find this gift...
I hope you find this gift...
I hope you find this gift.

"Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you" Elise McKenna [Somewhere in Time]

I've decided that I'm going to attempt to join my good friend Kelsey Moss in her celebration of Valentines Day. I haven't always been a fan of said holiday (more often referring to it as Single Awareness Day) especially since I go to a school that seems to be chock full of not only couples, but young married couples. However, this year I'm going to try and focus my attention on love in general - love for life, my family, and the many blessings I receive on a daily basis from my heavenly father. In order to do this, each day I'm going to post the lyrics and music video to one of my favorite song about love (note that I didn't day 'love songs') and short explanation as to why I chose to share it with you.

To start things off, I'm going to share with you one of my favorites: Dig by Incubus. I love this song because it's not so much about the romantic love, but about human connection. I'm a very relationship/people oriented person, and therefore and am able to really connect to this song. Like it states "we all have someone who digs at us". Take a moment to think about the people in your life who dig at you to become a better version of yourself or who dig you out from under the massive amounts of stress you've buried yourself in. Let them know who much you love them - and start this month right.

Oh, and Brandon Boyd is a master lyricist. Just saying

#1 Dig
Incubus

We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify.
Look me in the eye
and ask for forgiveness;
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again.
Yes, you are my friend.

We all have something that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try.

We all have someone that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohh
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.
